It belongs to the same regional jail authority as the Alberta Main Facility. The MRRJ system serves Brunswick, Dinwiddie, and Mecklenburg Counties, so a Brunswick County jail search can involve regional records even when the physical site is outside Brunswick County.

The page must be read with the research caveat. MRRJ's About page contains inconsistent capacity language for Boydton, naming capacity for 80 offenders in one place and describing a 115-bed facility for pretrial and work release offenders in another. The state 2023 capacity report snippet says the Mecklenburg facility remained closed due to low inmate population. Because of that, the Boydton facility should be treated as a mapped MRRJ facility that may appear in location history or system information, not as the default place for daily Brunswick County detention.

The official source conflict is the key fact for this facility. MRRJ identifies the Boydton satellite and describes it as a pretrial and work-release site that houses male and female offenders. One MRRJ sentence says the satellite has capacity for 80 offenders, while another calls it a 115-bed facility. The inspected state capacity-report snippet adds that the Mecklenburg facility remained closed due to low inmate population.

That address source supports the facility map, while the capacity report caveat limits how strongly the page should describe current housing.

Search Boydton Satellite Custody

Lookup remains system-wide through the MRRJ JailTracker current-offender roster, not a separate Boydton-only public roster. The roster may show facility, arresting agency, charges, bond, court fields, holds, release status, VINE fields, and booking images when MRRJ enables those public fields. If a profile does not show a clear housing site, call MRRJ before assuming Boydton placement.

2. Look for any facility or agency field tied to the person.
3. Call the Boydton number or the MRRJ main number if the roster is unclear.
4. Use MRRJ FOIA for booking or facility records not shown online.

Boydton Visitation Rules

The inspected MRRJ visitation page publishes system-wide tablet visitation rules rather than a separate Boydton schedule. Visitors must register through GettingOut/GTL Connect, and MRRJ says all family and friend visits are conducted over tablets added to housing units. Because Boydton's active status is caveated, confirm the person's location and current visitation process with MRRJ before scheduling a visit.

Boydton Mail and Phone

MRRJ publishes offender mail and phone rules for the regional jail system.
